Hi, sorry to post a question like this but I have tried to do a search on the forum but couldn't find any info regarding the average fuel consumption of a M5.

I currently drive a Z3 3.0l but I'm in the process of purchasing a M5 and will probably receive her this week sometime.

Any help and advise would be appreciated.

What size shoe do you wear ? Under size 13 ? 16 to 25 litres per 100 km .:excited:
CAR magazine June 2000 BMW figures quoted Urban 21.1 l/100km (town ) and 9.8 Extra-urban ( country 110 km/h ? ) , IMHO a figure of 11-13 at normal speeds <200 km/h and about 17 or so in town , could be better at coast .
Cheers , enjoy

Nah... My M5 has always been thirsty.. Moreso than other M5's for some reason.
Tyres have not made any difference unfortunately.

My Average For the Last Year is 12,6l/100km and my Business partner gets 12,8l/100km This is urban and freeway driving. Did Get an average of 10.9l/100km and also averaged about 160km/h. Hopes this helps, but once you are in the car you do not worry about fuel consumption anymore.

Waiting to see Pics, what model you getting ?

Oh forgot to say, Pre 2001 models where proned to heavy oil useage. And only use Castrol TWS Motorsport (10W60). From Dealers about R192 / Lt. If you look around you aught to get bit cheaper, so will be one of your most expensive items comes oil service time. And please do not use any 10W60 if you do not want any problems, new motor is very expensive if you can get.

My sooped up ST also used such expensive oil. So luckily I'm used to hi oil prices.
