My mate has one standing. The motor over Heated, when the petrol attendant forgot to replace the radiator cap

The car still in good nick, body, paint, except the hood liner starting to sag. Car has worKing tv, phone, etc... Car is a 1 owner since new handed down to him, mileage is about 200k

What would be a good price to pay for this car? He has all Oem parts to repair the car but has lost interest in repairing and car has been standing last 1 year

a roadworthy E38 would be in the region 0f R60k to R80K

so

with engine overhaul required I would proabaly think R30k to R40k would be a starting offer.

Overheated V8 can have issues beyond the obvious.
Example : Collapsed pistons Ovality on the bore as well as requiring helicoils in the block.

If one is aware of the possible extent of the damage one can budget for it but at R28k it appears a good price.
