E36 Unconnected pipe in throttle body

Hi

I have 1994 E36 318i (M42B18), I have a blocked off pipe in what I think is the throttle body? Have attached a pic.

Does anyone know why this was blocked off, and what it does? I'm assuming it's a vacuum hose?

I have seen other pics of this engine so I know that it's supposed to go somewhere. Not too familiar with the car, it's a family members old car, only major work that I'm aware of was the head gasket getting done a few years ago.

hi, it goes to air filter box,just remove air filter box you will find the connector,its a vacuum pipe....

the reason why mine was disconnected is the connector down there at air filter box was broken so my mechanic just cancelled it,but doesn't affect the performance...
