Thats right about the steering wheel, previous owner says he bought the car like that, what kind of job is it to get the original steering wheel fitted? It's a MOMO so anyone wanna swop?:mmm:

lol, I dont think anyone would want to swap for that :)

How do you hoot at people? That is the most important part of my car.
Fitting the original is not difficult, finding one might be a challenge though.

Actually, at the rate people have been wrapping these cars around trees, they should be meeting supply and demand for the steering wheels :)

Did all the E36's come out with the same fit steering wheel?
The center BMW badge is the hooter

What model is that? Not sure if they all came with Airbag, you might just need to find that out first.

try scrap yards, but be sure to shop around for prices, as some of these places know how to rip you a new one.

Mine doesnt have the airbag, im lightweight :)
Yeah and that trim around the gearstick could also maybe do with a removal. Apart from those minor probs it looks like a sweet ride. The dealer will charge about R550 for the OEM badges, but on ebay there is a seller that has OEM badges for about $10. The link is here somewhere if anyone wants to look it up, otherwise il try find it later. Did you just get the car recently?

Funny thing is..... the airbag model, has the same steering wheel as any other E36 with airbag.
Non-airbag models have a thicker rimmed steering wheel.
Calypso, can you post a pic of yours? :)

Expect to pay around R400 for a steering wheel , and between 1500 to 2000 for the airbag. These are scrap/salvage yard prices.
