E36 M3 Campaigns

Hello all,

Does anybody whether there were any recall campaigns on the e36 M3 4 door derivitives? I would assume that this is the S50B32 motor?
I was recently reading that the propeller in the water pumps were made of plastic and that over time they disintergated and caused heating issues to the motor.
The fix as stated, was to have a metal propeller fitted.
Did this apply to the South African units?
That was just one issue that I picked up on.

Were there any other issues that needed to be addressed and how would I know whether it was carried out on my vehicle.
Currently, she has approx. 83 000km on the clock.

One more stupid question.
I had a major service done at 81 000km in November 2011, and she now has 83 000km on her.
I will probably do another 1500 km in the next 3 months. Should I have the vehicle serviced reagrdless?
One year or 10 000km?

Thanks guys!

I'm not sure but I S50B30 had those problems not the 3.2.

Secondly you should service it yearly. So service it. The service intervals are 15000kms or yearly which ever comes first.

The plastic impeller was a problem on a lot of bm's , not just this motor .

Service is needed annually . Chemicals degrade and safety items need to be checked .

The problem you referring to occurred in the 3.0 liter M3 i.e S50B30. It was corrected in the 3.2, S50B32. It is very common for people to perform the water pump upgrade
