From your explanation, i have seen many much cleaner and less "used" ones sell for cheaper. IIRC, Rowen had bought and sold his Avus Blue one a year or so ago and he paid less that what they are asking for, that was a 2 door and immaculate.
Edit to add: Im not so clued up on the selling prices etc, but if i had to buy that car based on the points in your post, i would pay nothing more than a 100k and spend 20k to get it tip top!

The white is nice, but as i have learnt with my E46 purchase, you tend to have to let go of your first choice or so in favour of a car with the right foundation and condition.
I think R140k for anything other than an E36 that is immaculate, is way too much. They can try all they want to "sell it as a collectible", but if its not in collectible condition, it simply isn't worth it and I can't imagine there are many buyers around who aren't in the know.
Owner-servicing is fine if its well documented, otherwise its a huge risk.
Personally, i agree that R100k is more appropriate.

However, you need to disregard dealers and sellers who present examples as 'well looked after' or 'collectible', with the reality not living up to that description as is the case with this white one. These sellers ask huge prices in the market, but again, as with the white one, are not necessarily making sales at those prices.
There is a lot of noise in the market, as people try to ride the trend of increasing values for genuinely clean examples - trying to pass off not so clean examples as clean ones, and trying to extract high prices. So just because someone advertises at RXXXk, doesn't mean they will get it from the market.

bro.. stay away.. the rims are probably original but was sent somewhere to have it refurbished to the dastardly looking chrome finish that you see there. we cant expect the old lady to be flawless but from what I have been reading, that is waaaaay too much money for far too much work that needs to be done.

Not too long ago, a friend of a friend had sold a Dakar yellow 4 door, in what he calls, Ok condition for r110k. when I saw the car it was immaculate. it was being serviced by a very reputable guy in cape town and was in all round awesome shame.

You right Hoosain. The 4 door had the rim without the embossing. Fanks adamr.. There are many nicer ones out there.. Don't rush.. It took me 3 years to find my one or one that I was happy with and then I still paid muuuuuuuuuuuuch less than you could ever imagine paying for a M3

OEM 4 door rims didn't say BMW or Motorsport, they were smooth with the diamond finish and small ///M logo.444YYY said:
