E36 keys

The buttons on my E36 M3 master key have seen better days (a bit worn). They are the two button type. They still work fine, but i think it needs to be sorted before it gets worse.

Anybody had this problem with the E36, and how did you repair it, obviously without ordering a new key from the Stealers?

I know the guys with the 3 button, you get replacement buttons on Ebay, but i could not find for the 2 button.

I also thought about drivesure, but you have to post them your EWS for them to code the key, etc because the are based in the Cape. Im not to keen on doing that.

Would prefer a Jhb option.

I did open up my key when i replaced the batteries, and all is good, except the worn buttons.

Will keep stealers in mind as a last option.

where you based?
i bought a blank key (two button) for R200 bucks by arries in schaapkraal and just had it cut (120) and transplanted my old inners into the new key and no issues :)

I used Drivesure and I have had no problems with the key. I am based in the Cape though, so I understand your dilemma of having to send the unit down.

Perhaps consider transfering the internals to another new key.

May consider swopping internals into a new key.

Im based in Jhb, where can i get a blank key here? and can anybody cut it correctly?

Yup, but previous owner used that key as well.

Trying to restore them as the bottons dont look good. I think it is common with the E36 two button keys. My friend has the same problem.
