e36 driver door housing

Hi! i need to replace the driver door housing/panel (hope thats what it is called). the old one has had better days. i am in cape town. someone tried to break into my e36 but when the whale siren went off they scattered. Now the alarm actiavtes since the small window'd integrity has been compromised. pd glass wants 560 but i found a 2nd hand one for 150. do i go back to pg glass to fit or how difficult is it to DIY?
