I had a 330i a while ago but had to sell it to buy something more suited to gravel roads...now I'm in the position to buy a nice car again and I'm looking at an E36 328i manual, 163000 on the clock, fsh, etc.
Nice car, BUT, is there any way of identifying whether an E36 328i has the aluminium block or the later cast iron block??? I'm looking at buying a 1997 model and from what I understand that was the year they changed from alum to iron, so i've no idea whether the one i'm looking at is alum or iron...
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
