Hi guys

I am thinking of buying a E36 328 Convertible. When I was looking through the service books. I noticed that it said Individual? What did the individual model include?

Also what are common issues with these cars that I need to look out for?

Thanks

Things to look out for on a 3 series..

but a Vert, I would also make sure the roof is 100%

Hi Travis,

I once had one. The only problem was the roof kept getting stuck. It still had moltoplan and the dealer just could not repair it, they were useless. Other than that...WHAT A CAR! man oh man, it was stunning. I now have the E46 Vert and I love this car too. The E36 was lighter, very fast and a pleasure to drive. If the service history looks good and the roof is good, then it is a car that can be enjoyed unlike any other E36 (apart from the M3 ofcourse.)

As from my previous thread....

I have an E36 328i cabriolet manual, its a fun car, beautiful ride and lots of power, having the top down while cruising is absolutely awesome!

Its not really a family car even though it has 4 seats, the boot aint that big and even though having the top down is cool, the ppl in the back might not enjoy it that much...too much wind at the back, unless you get a wind deflector, having that will make it hard for them to get in and out though.

When buying one, apart from the usuall checks to be done, i suggest if the owner doesnt mind, hose the roof at all angles harshly to check if it has any leaks inside, once that is done lift the roof bin LID to see if water has collected in the roof bin, the seals might be gone, this is not too serious but can become annoying on rainy days and can cause rust issues!

When closing/opening the door/s the windows move up/down to seal/release from the roof. Check this is working fine!!

Check that the front seats move front else it make it impossible for you to get passengers in the back. Cherries with short skirts dont appreciate that...LOL!!

Good Luck!
