Hi My 325i is not well at round about 3000 to 3500 rpm it feels as though the car is misfiring and it is like a flat spot on a carburator car. Some one told me the injectors are probably shot witch can be possible as the mileage is currently at 280000 is there any one out there with some ideas?

Does this happen when cruising or accelerating ?
Does it happen when hot or cold ?
Has weather any effect - worse after rain ?
Have you checked each coils resistance ?

Any mods that have been done to the vehicle..?

hrmmm, is there allot of oil around the head gasket? if the car is feeling like it is miss firing it could be a gasket?

Does it give like a burble sound and feel as its going through that 3000 - 3500rpm range?

Could be spark plugs too? when last did you have those checked?

Easiest way to check the head gasket as mentioned is to check the oil cap for white residue or water mixing. Check the dipstick aswell and the water in the coolant bottle for any trace of oil.

If it appears that any of this evident... Then head gasket is blown.

I also suggest start troubleshooting from the smallest to largest problems... Spark plugs being your first.

Also make sure that your timing is spot on etc.

Goodluck!

That depends on the type of driving..If only used for short journeys then its possible for condensation to mix with the oil causing the white residue...need to get the engine fully up to temp to stop this from occurring ie give the car a good run every so often

I would be checking for any airleaks or split hoses and would also have a diagnostics done to check for any faulty sensors
