E36 318is Aircon

Hi guys

My aircon and blowers etc have packed up on my e36 318is. Any recommendations on where to go or what the going rate is to replace or repair if possible. Last quote i got was R8000.00 from Bosch I think it was (the onle close to RGM)

Howzit,

I can't answer your question on cost for a full repair, but, are you sure that it has "packed up" and not a problem with the aircon unit?

I ask because e36 316i's my aircon didn't work when I got it, and it was an electrical problem with the aircon unit, which was easy to repair.

Sorry if you have eliminated this already...

It was initially an electrical problem some years back but had been nipped in the but back then.

The compressor is buggered on mine and has been for about 2 years or so (havent bothered fixing it - but in the process of fixing her up) i have been told that the heater should still work and so should the demister although the compressor is stuffed so im really not sure. Rather be safe and replace the whole setup.

If the blowers aren't working then its likely to be a duff final stage resistor...however as you're going to replace the the whole lot....
