Decided to replace the AC microfilter today so I went out and got one, whipped out the Bentley manual and followed all the steps to remove the glove compartment. I tried to follow the steps to replace the filter but I couldnt make ANY sense of it and had to close everything up again... Anyone done this same replacement? Tips?

Its on the driver side and you have to remove the cover under the Dash where your Feet are thats all and a small piece of plastic air duct. Bently manual is for left hand drive but the rest is the same. Oh and have a Vacuum handy for you will see alot of rubish does collect there

Sorry, not to be mean, but I laughed just a bit when I saw the final pic you posted , as I kinda thought how I sometimes end up with things looking like that when I am done.

Hope you get right next time, and don't let this put you off :=):

Its it supposed crack the frame in 2 spots when it goes in. Its not a straight slide, so you have to bend (crack) it to get it around the corner.

Not done this myself, but as far as I recall, this was the case.

*update*
Yep I remembered correctly

If your old filter didnt have cracks in it, thats means its the original one from when the car was built.

SIGH!! I raged for nothing:thumbdo: The junk on the filter looked pretty original to me so I blew it all off and put it back in...
