Hi Guys

Has any one experienced the following symptoms with their car.

Sometimes at startup the cars idle is hunting badly at startup. Give it a few revs and the hunting dissapears.
Sometimes while driving the car will jerk especially when accelerating gently. Also happens when driving at constant speed.

The conditions only remain for a few seconds.

Also check spark plugs and coil packs.
I once cracked 2 spark plugs and it behaved like that. (Washing cold engine with warm plugs FTL)

Hunting idle, that sounds like the cars got performance cams...could also mean that the Vanos is not working properly. Best is to put the car on a diagnostics machine...

Hey there!

Had a similar problem with my 330, diagnostics picked up nothing.
The fault was due to a "leaking" injector thus causing the engine to flood when switched off.
Just the experience I had, not sure if its related but if all else fails worth a look at...

This Sounds like the Exhaust side Solenoids on the Vanos! Common on the 3.2l's, Air Mass Sensor also does that sometimes, Try changing the solenoids on the Exhaust side of the Vanos and see if it comes right:thumbsup:

My 3.2 does something similar, it holds back when under load. It seems to get better when hot. when i drive at low speeds it sometimes sounds like one cylinder has died. what can this be, could it be the same problem. mind you when the cars hot it runs fine. if i race it an launch hard with full throttle it also holds back. what can it be?
