E34 Airflow meter upgrade

Hi all. So I finally have my very own 325i E36 of which i am very proud. I've been told that the E34 535i airflow meter will do wonders for my power output. is it a worthwhile upgrade? Has anybody tried this conversion on their E36? if so, what sort of power gains have you experienced? Any advice will be appreciated.

:ty:Much love- Keep calm.................buy a beemer!

I doubt there will be any power gains from fitting a different airflow meter, remember the airflow meter measures the airflow into the engine in order to adapt fuelling, the engine will still draw in the same amount of air irrespective of the air flow meter.

I stand under correction....but won't it allow more air into the motor seeing that the air flow meter I would purchase is from a 535i( 3.5L). More capacity, more air?

Not really because the motor might be the limiting factor in terms of the amount of air that gets pulled in....there is possible performance gain from increasing the size of the intake path if it a limiting to the motor, but then you need to increase the size of everything not just the air flow meter, ie increase the size of the throttle etc.
