E32 buying advice

My feet are getting itchy........to buy BMW # 2. I have a soft spot for the oldies!

What should I be looking out for E32 wise? I am not one to fiddle with a V12, so a 750 is out. A 730 has all of the complexity of a 740, but not the same power, so this too may be off the list.

So it is down to a 735i or a 740i sans any nikasil problems, but by now, if they are still going, there should be no problem. Now, finding a nice one is about as easy as finding a virgin in a knock shop.

There are a few on the Gum, but the boys seem to want upwards of R35k for high milers!

So where is that unmolested example I can extract from the little old lady whose husband bought it new before he died?

So everybody knows EXACTLY what im going to say on this one.

M60B40 FTW !!!!

Stickshift baught on the other day for pennies, it needs work, but its still a gorgeous car.

I would recon here from 18 to 25k for a nice one is a good deal.

Wise to avoid the M70 (750) as spares are a problem, but there is still lots of the M60 bits flying around.

There is also Jandre's E34 540 that may be worth looking at :)

Good luck with the E38's, all the ones I looked at are wrecked deluxe as well.

Be patient, one will come up, usually when you are about to give up.

Tell me again just how bad it would be if an e32 750il came to live with me? How much pain can it be?

Rick, come with me to look at this one!!

All you need is a bit of patience and, before you know it, the right car will come along. A neighbour of mine has a lovely E32 730i in silver, he bought it new, it has a FSH, and is really tidy. Unfortunately he is not selling, but if he were, this is the kind of seller to target. Good luck with your search.
