Hey Guys,

Sorry been off the forum for quite a bit and didn't see this, thanks skyotic for the heads up.

Quite embarrising I send most of my time in my new old V8 landy, keep the kms down on the bm.

I am very keen for the run, enjoyed the last one even tho I had to leave early, and never got the ticket in the post :excited:

But I've got a 4x4 day on Sunday and think I may have used my last pass out, will chat to the minister of home affairs tonight and see if I could possibly make it happen.

So pencil me in for now.

Have to work this weekend. Dont normally work weekends, but this is murphy's law i guess.

Guys, there are a lot of the garages / filling stations running out of fuel due to the current truck drivers strike. The latest offer from the employers has not accepted by the unions and the unions have been given until 12h00 tomorro to present the offer to their members and revert with feedback. I would be very surprised if the offer is accepted. If the offer is not accepted by 12h00 tomorrow then in all likelihood the strike will continue until next weekend at least. There we can expect greater problems with fuel shortages next week and it would be best to restrict your fuel usage / conserve what you have. This may not bode well for the run on Saturday. Will update everyone tomorrow afternoon on the strike.

Thanx P, but there are still wuite a few trucks delivering fuel, not nearly as many as usual. Don't think there is a reason to panic just yet

Diablo, its true that some trucks are operating and delivering fuel but at a slower pace than usual. Whilst the situation has not reached critical stage as yet, from past experience, if the deadlock on a wage negotiation has not been broken by the Thursday, it usually continues for another week at least. So if the strike continues we could have critical shortages by next week. I also believe that the violence and intimidation will intensify in KZN...........much speculation but based on experience. If the strike breaks today, we will only see a full driver workforce on Monday............will update once word is received from the negotiating team.
