Not on actual cars but I have seen this used on moulds/tooling before. The ice sublimates as it makes impact and only leaves a wet surface behind so there is no real residue apart from the water. Its used on sensitive steel surfaces so the abrasion is low, but not sure how it would affect plastic and the softer items in the engine bay.

It's also not cheap so perhaps get some info from the companies before going this route. There are companies locally that do this such as Dry Ice International so perhaps give them a ring.

Big foot detailing in Melrose makes use for this method for engine bays as well undercarriage, it’s insane and works damn well, but comes at a heavy price.

Hi Brendon

Thank you for getting in touch.
Dry Ice cleaning starts at R5500 ex vat
Price may increase if we require more dry ice..consumption depends on how dirty the undercarriage is

So ill assume only the underside. Engine etc will be extra costs. Its not cheap but from the youtube videos ive seen it looks worth it
if its for both under and engine then is kak cheap...but still its worth it if you look at the videos makes the car look factory!!!.. i saw one where they did it on a porche hell it looked brand new they actually did the interior of that car..took like 60 hours!!!!
