Drive safe in the RAIN!!

Hi Fanatics,

I just witnessed a heart breaking site on the highway. Remember to drive cautiously in the rain. As technically advanced our BMW's are, things can still go wrong in the wet... A brand spanking new 640d M Sport.

I hope the driver is ok.







I see the last pic came out blurred . But nonetheless, this baby is badly damaged. Looks like it hit a pavement hard after losing control in the wet.

Dont like driving with other idiots on the road, especially not in the rain hey.
They don't drive slower or increase following distance. They take that as a gap they can fill! :argh:

I must say...

I'm very glad I bought the BMW and am not stuck with the Jetta, because weather like this would leave me standing after every puddle in the road...

That Jetta was as allergic to water as our splendid traffic light system is. At one stage I wanted to completely wrap the distributor with insulation tape to keep it dry :roflol:


In the BMW I feel much safer :thumbs:

Because torque... Even with my modest 380nm in my 320d I know exactly what entry speeds for the corners are safe in the rain.. :thumbs: Few people know what to do when you hit a oil drenched wet corner and the tail just goes.. It happens so fast the next thing you know you have a written off car..

Saw a crashed Renault close to the SABC there at UJ this afternoon - was about 10m off the road up an embankment not sure how that happened...

I drive aggressively even in snow on RWD, I never had any issue with rain it's the same as driving on dry roads
