So, got my "new" car on saturday, drove it down from OR Thambo to Gansbaai, 14 hours of driving phew.

2006 320d Sportpack M47 Auto (AlexTDi's old car)
Now, start itching again, going to do downpipe and chip before I will start looking for 193 wheels and take off that awfull runflats.

Some exhaust shops take off the DPF, cut it open, remove all the things inside and put the "box" back, at a cost of +-R400, and some remove the whole thing and put on a stainless steel downpipe, at a cost of +-R1500 - R2000.
Is the difference worth the cost diference, and what are the benefits of the downpipe vs the empty "box" sitting there?
At this stage I want to do this "mods", but cash is a bit tight so I must look at get the most effective way at the minimum amount of money.

i would go with the full downpipe .. pipe diameter would be larger and consistent .. therefore turbo would breathe easier and spool a bit quicker also ...

Go full Downpipe, you won't regret it...

Remember you want the consistency of the pipe...i think Spannie did the mod where he emptied the inside of the DPF contents and left it on and he went pleased at the outcome.

Go big (and proper) or go home...i waited for a while and did exactly that...did a proper downpipes and removed one middle box and it was heaven for the car
