When I went to collect my car, I left my sunglasses and music on the Polo  That's how excited I was to get the Beemer.

Mine wasnt glamorous at all, had to drive to some desolate gravel road in the middle of nowhere (kuilsrivier) to find a huge empty truck with a little Smart next to it. :roflol:

I have pictures...

Don't have video or pics but the day i picked up my 330i was an unforgettable day. One I'll remember forever even beyond my next purchases.

It was on sale at Audi Centre JHB. Saw it on Tuesday on carfind.co.za, picked her up that thursday. Got there and she was covered up but i could see by the shape that it was my baby under the covers!

Signed paper work, gave over the cheque and they pulled back the covers. Onlookers stood mesmerized as my 330i was revealed. They gave me the keys and I started her up. OOOH! that start up rumble echoed through the entire dealership, twas epic!!:inlove:

With a three quarter complementary tank i blasted my way back to Rustenburg SMILING ear-to-ear ALL the way there! No radio, no music just listened to the car. Listened for rattles and shakes - there were none! Listened to the wonderful engine feed me more and more power!

goose bump inducing stuff...

Got yourself one of the safest capsules on the road there - Have you seen the top gear/Fifth gear feature?

Does this only count for new cars? :fencelook:

I decided i wanted an E30 in 2009 (my first bmw) and found one not too far outside JHB that met my requirements..

Did the deal, went to collect it (got a friend to drive me there) and a couple of hours later i could see "my" piece of familiar highway..

About 2km from maraisburg rd off-ramp, the right rear tyre decides to go *bang*...

Managed to slow the car down (was only doing about 90km/h) and pulled over to inspect the damage:

-one missing bumper beading :argh:
-one messed paint finish around wheel arch :bangdesk:

That experience didnt stop me from enjoying the car afterwards..

Lesson learned: I'll always trailer a car home in future

29th March 2012.Car was located by dealer from dealer stock,so I didnt see it on an add.Did the deal via e mail and phone but had to wait 2 weeks before collecting it.Then ,had the M Performance pipes fitted and and this wait was delayed by 3 more days. After the saleman revvd it up,the DP and Salesmanager came down to the forecourt to have a listen - Then there was the 50km drive home.Ive done only +- 3000 miles/4500kms in 8 months.Drove it after a week, to work today cos its booked in for light adjustment.cant wait for the drive home - Excitement in little bursts I call it.

I have watched it repeatedly.

Not bad for a car with the same safety rating as an E46, but I would rather be in an E46 in the event of an accident - have a few friends who have rolled theres etc and walked away with a few bruises and cuts but nothing more.
