Guys ! - need some advice from those who have experience with this subject.
The Car, My Audi 2,0 Tdi (125kw Lemans).
Problem DPF - Blocked, needs to have DPF regen done on it or replaced, now these things are shite expensive - any advice will be considered.
Is there a way to Delete it via software (ie eliminate the need for it) or remove it totally and give the software a false reading of its existence.

:smashScreen: I feel like smashing it now.

I'm also a newby to diesels still learning about them. I believe the DPF can be removed and replace with a downpipe.

The diesels DPF serves the same function as the petrols catalytic converter... i.e. purely to reduce harmful emissions.

DPF regen can be done by taking the car on a long (spirited) drive which should clear it up.

But some of the more experienced diesel fanatics can probably assist with more insight

So I know my car has an auto regen which activates under specific conditions hence in theory at least the latest diesel models should not clog the DPF.

It's not worth it (in my mind) to replace it just get a DP made

Must find the right guys to do software.

I guess most of the BMW specific forum sponsors could also do OBD tuning on the VAG cars? Might be worth checking out the new Audi Fanatics forum, not sure what the member uptake has been to date though but I guess there might be a few people in the know

If there is no post cat (Dpf) sensors then just go to a reputable exhaust shop and get a downpipe fitted. No need for software unless you have post cat sensors.

:cartel: so found an Audi Specialist who has done loads of these Lemans models, apparently a very common issue with them. He has a business just down the road in Sebenza so I called in on him - he told me the problems before I could say anything :skit:
so he told me he will ripp out the cats, and get in his software man (all the way from Westrand) to come do DPF & EGR delete and load new map.
this car is just fantastic to drive now according to software man I can expect 150+ kw from his experience with these cars, and he might just be right as the wheels spin at 4000rpm when I press the load pedal.
Now Im all smiles again  very impressive job.

:coolShake: thanks for all the advice guys I first thought removing the cats it was going to be to noisy but im pleasantly surprised.
