Diesel coupe

Hi Guys

I have been looking around for a decent diesel coupe for a while. Is the 120d coupe (E82) and the 640d the only two or are there other coupes I should consider?

The idea of a diesel coupe sounds great in theory and practice. But sooner or later, you may realise the sound of the car will not fit in with the look of the car. I would love to own one some day, but the feel that you get when you floor the accelerator or throttle response that you get, needs to be on par with a petrol car, which for me is where the short comings are with a diesel coupe.

Sure they are fast & very fuel efficient but in terms of outright driver feel and response the petrol motors are more suitable to the 2door application.

I will say with the recent diesel motors they are bloody good, but more suited to sedans and suv type vehicles.

You do make a very good point Ash... One thing I will say, is that the 6 Cylinder M57 in my 530d sounds pretty good for a diesel, I actually quite like the tone, however I dont think the 4 Cylinders sound as good :fencelook:

I think this will change a lot with the bi and tri turbo diesels.

Friend of mine has a 325d coupe. Apart from the short rev range, there's barely any diesel clatter. Only a keen eye/ear would notice it's a diesel.
