I had the pleasure of detailing a Fanatics car during this past week as work had given me a break. This came in the form of a 118i hatch in white.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the overall condition of the car and paintwork was actually quite good. Beginning with the foamdown and wash of the car, getting into those usually neglected areas to remove grime.
Cleaned up nicely...
After that I moved onto the wheels which were quite an intricate design making it difficult to clean but I persevered. After cleaning I tried hand polishing out some scratches but failed:nonono:
After the wheels were cleaned they were sealed up with Permanon Aircraft Supershine to reduced the amount of brake dust buildup and make them easier to clean in the months to come.
Pics taken during Permanon application.
After that I moved on to decontamination by using Auto Finesse ObliTARate to remove tar present across the lower half of the car. This was followed up with a claying session.

After all of this, the car was moved in doors to get under the halogens to see what was in store for me. Unfortunately the pics don't show it very much.
Polishing began using the 3M rotary and pads and array of Menzerna polishes. This ended up being a 2 stage correction detail to push back the defects and bring out some gloss.
As usual the hardest hit area of the car, for defects, was the bonnet.
After the 1st stage:
The next few pics are after the second stage of polishing and once that was done the paint was sealed with Wolf's Hard Body Nano Sealant. This was applied in 2 layers 3 hours apart.
Black plastics were treated with Gtechniq C4 trim restorer.
Thanks for looking.
