It's a bmw bud. And probably an item that is in demand so prices spike. Give bmw a call as well you mught be surprised

Not sure how many parts youve bought for your BMW but thats probably the cheapest (except plastic screws) that one can get from BMW. A simple bumper trim piece is about R350.

Filters arent even as cheap as that

Tl; DR

Plastic parts, no matter how insignificant, for any BMW are silly expensive. This is a lesson you can only learn through experience.
