Demand for the classics

IF a BMW 530 MLE or a 2800 CS came up for sale how long would it take to get sold?

is there a large demand for them?

What classics besides the 333i are in big demand at the moment?

It depends on pricing, related to condition.

If those two are aligned properly then it should sell relatively quickly.

And given our car culture, most classics are in demand.

I agree with this , however i am just looking at demand overall.

Pricing and condition have major factors - but i was just looking to see how big the demand is.

What would be the 3 most demanded classics in SA?

I lot of the classics don't really come up for sale, they usually change hands privately from my experience.

Good list.

I must say that one doesn't see too many of these on the street any more. I suppose the good ones are all garage queens now.

Having in recent times been involved in the BMW CCG committee I have met some of the guys that are big into their classics

The following are definites

02series 2002
E9 3.0 CSI & CSL
E12 M535i
E12 530 MLE
E23 745i
E24 635CSi
E26 M1 (there a handful in SA, big money though)
E28 M5
E34 M5
E30 325is
E30 333i
E30 M3 (if u can Find one)

Then cars that are becoming classics or in a few more years
E36 M3
E36/8 MCoupe (maybe already a classic as they fetching big money lately)

Can't think of any more right now if so will add to the list

The only classic benz I would like to own would be a 560sec, the rest do nothing for me.

They are nice. I am very partial to the saloon version myself.

I would not mind a 325is, just to know it's locked up in the garage and I can go look at it now and again.. Alpine White as well! :=):
