Hi there

I am big 335 fan!!!

Car is awesome in every way. Most of the recalls should have been done whilst the car was on MP. You can check that with the VIN.

Happy hunting

330d = most economical of the lot and great power aswell you wont go wrong unless something breaks but I have heard they don't break that easy as long as it is well taken care of and you can plant your foot down everytime and it will still be lighter on fuel than the rest of your choices. :coolShake:

335i absolute beast but may cost you a fortune on fuel as you will not be driving it as miss daisy. You will, without fail plant that accelerator every time its driven and continue to scream with joy as you grasp that steering while sheer driving pleasure propels you into a world of the unknown. :skit:

330i N/A :tiptoe:

as for what to look for when buying I cannot give any advice or help :sorry:

Personally I would go for the 335i or 330d.

These are the cars out of your list with the best tuning capabilities since they are turbo. There are a few performance tuning houses for these two cars, I would recommend contacting one of the forum advertisers like X-cede and ask them some questions.

Unfortunately I'm still learning about these cars and don't know too much yet, so I can't help with the regular problems/faults, but I do know a BMW out of motorplan can be fairly expensive. So don't use all of your budget on the car payments, and remember to keep some money stashed away for repairs and maintenance items.

Good luck with the purchase. :coolShake:

335i or 330d

if you like torque buy a 330d if you like the shit blown out of you buy a 335i.

I have a 335i E90 and its the best decision I ever made, Fuel consumption isn't that bad, compared to a 330d it is but compared to the 330i its comparable.

Thinks to look out for on the x35i:
Waterpump (R5000)
Hpfp (Should be replaced already)
Injectors (Kak Expensive around R2.5k per injector)
Wastegate Rattle (Somebody once told me, its just a rattle :biglol: you can live with it)

Either 330D or 335I.

I would rather them out of 10 the following way.

335i Power 7 Economy 3
330D Power 4 Economy 6

Those are the deciding factor

runs, very fast, on diesel fumes and love.

Don't consider the 330i - N/A is an outrage in a Turbo world.

Lets see
330d M57N - No valvetronic, single turbo, No Vanos, Cast Iron Block, and probably about 3 or 4 sensors, possible HPFP issues

N54 (335) Valvetronic, two turbos, Vanos, Allu block, way too many sensors, known HPFP issues.

The N54 or possibly even in your case the N55 is a rev happy engine, and the car is insanely quick, it really is, however the diesel will deliver with a decent tune almost 2/3 more torque then the N54, meaning you have far more grunt on the diesel.

The diesel is exceptionally fast, but you do hit the red-line fairly quickly, whereas the long rev range on the 335 goes on forever.

I currently own a 535i, I would swap it for a same spec 530d or 535d in a heartbeat....

Diesel bud, its your most economical choice both in terms of maintenance as well as running costs.

Thanks gents Yoh you guys have tons of knowledge on these cars. I do quiet alot of milage but and i was leaning towards the 335i but now im swinging more towards the 330D now busy doing more research on these cars 330i is ruled out so far. I will keep you guys posted on what the decision is.

another question i have is how strong are the steptronic boxes on these cars,i prefer manual but there seems to be alot of steptronic's out there are these box's any good in terms of reliability and tuning ?
