Decat vs DP

Just wanted to know what the difference is between a decat as allowed to a downpipe

Decat is just cutting the cats out of the stock downpipe and either welding on a straight pipe or cat fooler.

Downpipe is one complete unit generally removing some of the bends that you would see on the stock downpipe or maybe increase in diameter to improve the flow. You can also put in a cat fooler on a downpipe if needed.

Going with a good complete downpipe is my preference.

My suggestion as Karsh mentioned is to do a decent downpipe, this will also eliminate the cats on the stock downpipes and then remove the middle cats and replace with straight pipes or boxes depending on your sound preference.
