DECAT e46 330i

Have any of you done a decat on an e46 330i?

Any tips ? Is this worth doing or is it just throwing money down the drain?

I know that on the E46, a factory de-cat was a no-cost option. Maybe yours is already de-catted

WOW - SAC have quoted me R1450 "per side"- Making it a total of R2900.!!

They do say they put in a SIM to make sure that the engine management system does not cry about the missing Cats....

i decatted my e46 328i at PowerFlow (Bellville, Cape Town). Cost me around R600 and got a powergain of 12kw. Also got that nice tinny m3 sound...

To get maximum gain your car has to be tuned with performance software :nono:

Hi All,

So I went ahead with the DeCat today at SAC and I am very pleased. Total Kw gain was 13kw, so after dyno the car is up o 183kw (so I must have lost 1kw in the last 5 years : )

Car is not much louder at all, just a little bit tinny at about 5500 rpm.

Yeah, the 330i has 2 cats in those ugly headers and 2 cats further down the exhaust system. 4 in total. Most places just cut out the cats from the exhaust and leave the header ones in because they are too lazy to remove/replace the exhaust manifold. Meanwhile its the exhaust manifold cats that are the big restriction in the exhaust system.

I went to MACE in Tokai at first and they qouted me R1800 and Powerflow is right next to them so i went into powerflow only to find out they do all MACE's work!!!!!
Ans for the engine management.....well it's not crying.
Also went toZeemax for Dynorun and the car is pushing out 163kw!!!!
I've been told about the cats at the headers there...something i did not know so that's my next move.
I hope that they did remove yours for the price you pais bru!!!!!!

Yup they removed all 4, they are sitting in my garage...what do i do with them
