Daytime running lights

Morning guys, before my rear lights melted and got changed, my rear lights never used to switch on with the dtrl during the day, but ever since BMW changed my rear lights, they are always on as long as my dtrl are on, what's the default setting?

My rear lights are also on with the DRL's on my LCi bud :thumbs:

And on the F30 they not on with the DRL's...

I think BMW needs to standardize on these bloody things.
