Crank Pulley wobbling

Hey there guys
My girl has an '04 e46 320d, good condition, 145k approx on the clock.

Yesterday I go have a look at the car due to a new noise from the engine.
The crank pulley it seems has loosened up somehow?! How would this happen? Precautions? Fix?

The A/C belt has already been completely eaten up and thrown off the pulleys and the alternator etc belt has some wear on the inner side.

I have told the fam nbot to drive the car until further notice, dont even start it.
Didnt have time to take the plastic cover off from the induction as of yet to have a better look and feel. Maybe today....

Any advice?

Thanks in advance

very common fault on the diesels, 320d especially..

the crank pulley is rubber damped, the rubber has torn. you need a new crank pulley..

very expensive from the stealers, pirate pulleys can be had for about 2.5k last time i looked? also you will need specialized help to remove and replace it..

edit : seems their prices have come down a bit..

i would not drive the car like this if you can... if the belt goes so does the cooling and you dont want to cook the engine...
