Good day guys....

I am currently in Cape Town and my crank pulley decided to give up....1/1/2017.how to start the year.
Need help to source or get the pulley replaced ASAP as I need to get back.to Jhb on Thursday.

Where could I take my car for repairs or where could I source the part from.

Regards
Shailesh

Buy a Cortega (or something to that effect) pulley from Goldwagen for about R3300 and have it fitted at Garage 808 or similar. After fitment make absolutely sure that the belt tensioner is running smoothly as we had a brand new continental damper pulley on my son's car which gave off a lot of vibrations due to out of roundness (we replaced it with a Cortega ?? brand). If you want to do it yourself you will have to have a lift available or a pit or some nice high ramps. Locking the crank to get the old pulley off and the new one tightened is the problem. If you pm me i can supply the number of the guy that helped us with my son's car as he has a workshop in Bellville, close to Toys R Us

Thanks guys.
I managed to sort it out.I bought one from BMW Atlantic and fitted Myself. Was not so hard to do.
I went to Goldwagon but they had the Topran part and Master parts had some Chinese made pulley which did not look the same as mine.
Bit the bullet and put the Oem one in as I don't want this to happen again.

i did my e39 530d crank pully last year december.
car was on 320 000 km.

This is amazing, you sure it was the original crank pulley?

My 30d is about to crack 180K/km and I have my crank pulley purchased and ready with new belts in my garage, actually traveled to the Cape with it over December, just in case....

Glad the OP got his sorted.
