Alright... As the title says,

How hard is it to convert an Automatic 330i to Manual...

And this next question, which actually is stupid, but hey, lets try it anyway, what are the chances of me putting my 5 speed 323 gearbox in an automatic 2003 330i.

Ok... Lets hear it..

and Maronor, you would know alot about this, so drop me some wise words man!!!

I've done this on a 325i E30 some years back and it was not so difficult, just be sure that you have 'everything' you need before starting !!! even the radiators are different on manual cars :nonono:

I don't think your getrag 5spd will stand up to the torque of a 3.0lt, let alone one with boost...What clutch are you running at the moment?
It can be done but rather be patient for a 6spd 330i to come along.

Like I said.. stupid question. I was being impatient, and we all know what happens when one is impatient. :fishwack:

Will work. Can do it

Consider the following though,

1. You will have to re flash the DME else it will be looking for the EGS, and if not found, may go into limp mode. Also, recoding of the cluster also needs to be done

2. Have to do an alteration to the wiring else the starter wont work.

3. WHat about the final drive ratio,

4. Im with Gizmo, physically it will work, but your going to break it :)

5. Bring it on, im keen to help. Weekend of work, you bring the cheese....

From my basic knowledge can be done, but really going to be easier (not to mention a lot cheaper) to just keep looking for a manual 330i - they are out there!

crash i know of some 2.8l crank pistons and rods available the whole lot will cost you about 5k then you just have to get them fitted

will be cheaper and better than doing the 330i to 6speed swap :)

the 328i parts have been proven to take boost well and they dont have the 6000rpm vibration problem that the 330i has...
