Consumption on e46 328i

Seeing as some members put theirs on i thought id share mine. Who knows maybe ill help someone out who buys a smaller engine because they are afraid of the consumption. And before anyone says i drove like a snail to get these figures, well most of you know me, this was mostly long distance but short as well and i passd every car on the main roads *but did so at a legal speed.

*this part was inserted to reflect thetrue nature of my driving Coisman. Hint hint (Avg 120km/h)

was 8.2l/100km at one stage

Bottom figre is km left. and one can see the petrol needle is at half way

On a recent trip I got consumption of 7.2l/100km over a distance of 1300km, pretty good I think for 3l 6-cyl engine

Impressive , I used a BMW E90 323i recently for a trip to Jhb and back and it got me 7.1l/100km and i hmm , won't say much about legal speed limits . The new technology really puts my E46 fuel consumption to tears . In my E46 325i i get around 9l/100km

average was 4.4ltr per 100km......E46 320D F/L.......

At some stage managed 4.2ltr......

I get about the same (or maybe slightly less) on my 330i Auto on the open road at the legal limit.

Around town it's between 10 and 14, depending on the traffic and my mood

My E46 325 hearse got around 10l per 100km in mixed driving. My e46 323 gets around 8l. The 325's are heavy but the throttle reponse is very good.

Like Garfield also showed if one keeps to long distance driving its easy to get these motors to as low as 7.0L/100km. Unfortunately i get impatient easily

Getting a BMW I-6 to rev to the red line every now and then is just too difficult to resist :mmm:

I managed 8.2 from Bloem to Pta with my 330i, also on the legal limit.

In town it can go up to 13.3 if you enjoy the noise...

Well i drive a E46 328i in town i get 11L/100km and on the open road i get round about 8.6L to 9L/100km
