Connecting an Amp, Sub and better speakers to Factory Radio on E46

Hi All,

I have a factory standard BMW Business radio, cassette player in my E46, and I want to wire up an Amp,Sub and some aftermarket speakers. I have no idea how to connect the Amp up though. Does the Business Radio have an additional output, or do I need to get adaptors? Will the standard head unit handle the new speakers? I was also thinking of installing a Gateway 100. http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=30472

Any help, info, pictures would really be appreciated

I think that you will need a line convertor for this bro, not sure that this model has RCA outputs

Correck - you will need line out coverters and prepare yourself for a bitch of a job - the space is tiny, the wiring loom is a nest of wires that comes from the space shuttle - you have lights, ECU, speed control etc added in the equation here too. But with patience you can / will suceed.

its not that bad , ive done this plenty times, all you need is a what they call a high to low converter, which you have to then strip the wire for the rear speakers to attach the converter, this is were you will be able to run the rca's on...this you will need to run down the passenger side. . .remove the bottom panels on the carpet and run cables through there, use a wire for the difficult places to push cables through, pop the back seats down and running the cables to the boot, rest is pretty simple except!! for them door speakers good luck with that!!...
