Cold air Induciton vs Std Airbox

Guys, I bought this induction system from autostyle,
http://www.autostyle.co.za/product/17498/KRacingUniversalCarbonFibreAirFilterSystem/

I primarily installed it in my 325ci as i did not have the complete airbox, :censored: Dealers. (refer to bmw umhlanga were car was traded in).

The unit is not carbon fibre and has a rather small cone filter inside it.
Unit stays reasonably cool.
Running it for 4 months with no problems or errors so far. Gives a good Raspy sound...

But i want to know if the standard airbox would be better.Don't like the idea of the ram pipe from this 'air box' near the brake duct.( Might suck in water).Cold air induction thinking.

I am based in Durbs.

Looking for an airbox for my BMW but it aint an easy part to source.

Thanks in advance.

he standard airbox is probably better, you will have to be spending quite a lot of money to get something that is better than the standard on the e46.

I do agree, Primarily done cos i had a conefilter sitting on top of the airbox base. Was sucking in hot air.

E46 airbox is about as good as you can get-you won't see any gains with a CAI-just the noise...E36 on the other hand does see some gains with a decent CAI

Try out a couple of scrap yard for the airbox and you can get a new filter at the dealers for something like R120.
