Coins stuck in ashtray

Does anyone know how to open or remove the ashtray in an E93 by any chance? Some bloody coins have slid behind the top cover and are stuck there

Bud, if the ashtray removal in the E93 is anything like like the E82.
Its long shit job. I had to remove pretty much the entire centre console.
If im not mistaken there should be a few diys on the E90 post.

Lo and behold I did indeed have to remove the centre console. Wtf where BMW thinking

Coins aren't magnetic. Doesn't it just clip out, like this .

I had the same problem, my daughter posted a few coins between the ashtray lid and the top of the centre console.

Like a 2-3 hour job, centre console out
