Hi Rudi, I echo Clownshoe's sentiments exactly. I have a 1976 530MLE (e12), a limited run car that was only made in SA, so finding like-minded enthusiasts is very difficult. The 2002 range (e10) was manufactured from 1968 to 1975 in saloon, convertible, touring, and turbo models. It went through a fairly early facelift where the most noticable difference was the round tail lights being replaced by square ones. Thereafter it was replaced by the first 3 Series (e21). The Turbo model was Europes first production turbocharged car. As far as I know, all models had a variation of the straight four M10 motor. The nice thing about this era is that there were plenty trim overlaps from the various BMW model ranges, so you may find your indicator stalk, just as an example, is the same as in the e3, e9, e12, and e21. The same applies with the M10 motor, it was also used in the e12 and e21 in more or less the same state. So this does open up a wider area within which you can search for advice and parts. BMW Classic caters very well for the 2002 range so, if you want to spend a small fortune, you can order plenty new parts from them. I think the biggest problem you will find when restoring this car is body rot. These things rust like crazy, so you must get that right or the rest of your resto will be a waste.
