discussion Cic retrofit on car with harman/kardon S668 audio, will it work?

Hi,

Does anyone know if it's possible to retrofit an E82 CIC into a BMW Professional with harman/kardon S668 audio system?

My cars a 2012...

I'm sure it can be done, the real question I'd like an answer too is, is it worth the effort.

I'm thinking it's a real PITA job. The coding looks to be the most simple aspect of it all. The most reasonable way of going this way it seems is to find an e8x that is being parted out and try to get all the components from it. I think a premium aftermarket head unit with a coax to MOST converter might be the way to go...

Why not just an aftermarket Android head unit - those should be plug and play, with the bonus of supporting Apple Car Play/Android Auto

Yeah this is the way I think. Was just hoping to keep things OEM etc.

Would anyone happen to know if the volume control etc will work with a MOST amplifier?
