Chris Harris on M3

Having watched the 63 vid, I watched the M3 vid immediately after, and as a drivers package, the M3 seems to have the 63 Nailed. Also not sure if the video recordings were different, but the M3 sounds better inside to me.

Yeah I think it sounds better inside because they are faking engine/exhaust noise through the cars audio system? Pretty lame for BMW to do that.
M3 over the Merc for me, but that Merc engine=wow. The AMG's all sound good, but I'm still 50 years to young for a Merc:roflol:

and thats exactly why its done, the damping is just too good nowadays. It is still a LOUD car from the outside.

BTW - most manufacturers are following suit.

lol @ 50 years..

Yeah true, we are all becoming too soft and muted with everything though. Loud is good. Well sometimes.
I'm new to upgrading/mods etc, but holy sheet the bug has bitten. Only thing I listen to now when driving is the car/exhaust! A car must go like stink and the sound sometimes just makes is feel faster. Look at all those "fast" golf mk1 with cone filters.

Chris will probably do a proper comparison on track because he also wants to know which one is 'better'.

Some manufacturers are using a "symposer", which they say is an acoustic tube that channels engine noise from the engine compartment into the cabin. This is perfectly acceptable, but playing the engine noise through the speakers is just cheesy.
