Hi everyone.
I have been on the forum for awhile now but this is my first post.
I am in the process of buying an E92 335i N54:joy:

Has anybody ceramic coated there branches and or exhaust systems. If so did you notice any improvements in power/fuel consumption?

Thanks for the info!

Good question. A similar discussion took place this weekend amongst some N54 / N55 owners and the view was that it would be beneficial to have the DP coated

it does have benefits, more so on turbocharged cars..

its easy to justify the costs on a racing engine where every small advantage helps, but how much of a benefit vs. cost on a road car is open for debate though..

i have used the ceramic heat barrier coating offered for piston tops often, i feel its worth the effort. but i prefer using these guys for that..

I have my downpipes ceramic coated and intercooler thermal dispersant treated.

I can't tell you if if gives any noticable gains, however I think the engine bay stays slightly cooler and I don't feel any heat near the left side of the drivers footwell which is reported on N54's with downpipes.

I have had entire race engines thermally treated and it certainly make a difference on them. Whether it's worth it on a road car is debatable.

im pretty sure there will be a improvement but dot think it will be on a very large scale.

i prefer to polish the parts in order to get the smoothest finish possible without a coating that might possibly come off causing issues down the line...

Tuner to Subaru owner:
"Yeah, It'll Easy make 450 KW...for a few seconds... followed by a Loud Bang, lots of smoke and some crying."
Subaru owner to Tuner:
"Great!! Lets Do it"

i never get tired of this :roflol::roflol:

I didn't get it done on my N54 but got it done on my 63.

As sleeper mentioned it keeps that section much cooler which in the long run will make the vacuum tubes last longer. The heated transmission tunnel is also very irritating so if I had a chance I would do it even if there was no performance benefit.
