Hi guys,

got a 2004 BMW fitted with a business BMW radio CD front loader. For some reason I can only play certain CDs. Is that due to the CD's copyright protection or the player itself? Can anyone help? Please come up with reasonble cost solutions

the one's i'm playing are original, not copies. I had this issue once in a rental car in europe, would not play these cd's. friend told me that's it's due to copyright protection

The wiring harnass.
cheaper option is to get one of those MP# players that plug into your lighter socket,
that plays of one of the frequincies on your head unit.

thanks i got one of those already but it interferes with the electronics somehow as i hear zinnnnnnnnnnning sounds ettttttc almost like a long low key beep in the speakers then with other songs you get other soounds - with one song i was getting a crackling sound etc but on my computer that songs play very fine - but i will keep checking the options - i wanna put in a single 12' speaker as well with a amp and change my back speakers soon.

thanks

So there is not much I can do about CD's not playing? What about trying to copy them in a different format, and if that works which format should I try?

Your comments/advice will be appreciated.

You could try just ripping the CD to MP3's then writing it to a new CD, that should sort out any DRM issues, if that is indeed the problem (I won't be surprised if it is the cause of the problems)
