So I finally got the cats out. Only the ones in the middle. No foolers needed and only cost me R500 at Powerflow. They just put in 2 straight pipes.
The response of the car is much better and I am still monitoring fuel consumption, but it looks ok. Car is full of energy and is really pulling better.
Now everytime I push the petrol a bit too hard this screeching sound comes out.
Is this normal or is the dead cats haunting me?

Guy at Powerflow says, ride it for a while and if I do not like that they can put in 2 boxes to silence it. Obviously more $$$$.

Any recommendations.

I had to go for the two mid boxes as well, but I had the header cats taken out as well. It sounded so beautifully loud but the neighbours complained.

The old fogeys across the road from me positively HATE the sound of my car :) I can see it in their faces every time I pull out of the garage and they in their garden :) but, I ask you... Can you see the worry in my eye?

Will see, maybe the sound need to grow on me. My wife though is not as happy as my boy. He thinks we've got a racing car now.
I still plan to take him on the open road and floor it a little. The sound will make him smile from ear to ear.

Is it too loud and tinny or is it the rasp like the ///M3?

I actually like the raspy sound:rollsmile:

Sound is cool and rasp, only when pushed hard it sounds tinny (like an empty can)
Will ride it for a while and then decide.

Yeah, sounds like you need the rosonator boxes. Ask Powerflow if they can take the cat in the header out too whilst you fit the resonator boxes, you should feel even better accelerator response!

Usually the carbon build up in the pipes takes away some of the rawness of the tinny sound and gives it a deeper tone. The other thing is that just check your middle box in your exhaust. Remember you have the cats, then a middle box then the back box. What happened with mine at powerflow is that the extra air coming through was too much for the stock middle box to handle so it messed up the sound quite badly. Just replace with new powerflow box and it should sound a bit better.

If it sounds sexy leave it!!! Also get some passengers to sit in the back and get thier opinion if its too loud as that can be irritating on long dist. trips!
