Hoping someone can shed some light on the carbon buildup issues on the R56 MINI's , has anyone been affected by this? How much does it cost to have it removed? and how often will it occur?

The car with the lowest mileage we have done is 39,000km and it had detonation issues with super knock faults registered on the DME. The clean seemed to solve the problems. The cost of the clean is R2500.
We have not done enough Minis to predict the frequency although there is a lot of information online regarding the Mini's and carbon build up on overseas forums.
Seems every 50,000km is the sweet spot if general consensus is to believed.
