So this is a quick feedback on my trip to Cape town and back (16-17 Dec). In the process acquiring a great car, viewing another stunning one and meeting 2 great okes in the process.
First of all a great  to Jandre. For fetching us from the airport having all the papers in order, collecting the wheels for us while we were in camps bay, having the car fresh and clean on arrival, and all the extra bits that came along with her. :ty:
So while we were gallivanting in camps bay I called Matt to have a look at his beauty JEZEBEL.
People, all I can say is that I've had an M3 for over a year, and even had mine in Margate so experienced the fresh air experience but this car is something else. Long story short we went for a quick spin around the block and he let me drive his precious home!!! IT was EPIC. For all those lovers of the M3 rasping exhaust note, this car takes it to a whole new level. It starts from as low as 2000rpm even if not under load and comes really alive from 3000 onwards. The true shine of the car is the handling. I could write a whole other topic just on that. And then there's the brakes. Face ripping.
Needless to say this car is superior to the regular M by a significant margin. This would be one to keep. Until death do us part. And then there's the option to add forced induction, as it's all ready for it. Well done Matt.
So after shaking off the adrenalin we start our drive back home. Via Jandre's house for one last time to pick up the original wheels. Locked and loaded we take on the great N1 through I could say arguably one the most beautiful and scenic drives in all of RSA.
4 Hours later and after tedious accommodation hunting we stay in Beaufort west. Saturday morning at 10:30 we finally hit the road and get home by 20:00.
Entering Gauteng we get a nice welcome home with a radar trap of 144 on an uphill. Get pulled over, but managed to "make it go away".
Fuel consumption was rather interesting. an average tank would last us 550km. 63L took us 580km at one stop. and another 44L 390km. So averaging just shy 11L/100km. What was interesting is that at 130kph the consumption would match that at 160kph. So where we could we did. BTW 3000rpm in 5th gives us just over 160kph indicated. I recall someone mentioning this with regards to torque vs fuel efficiency. Fordkoppie?
Otherwise no hiccups with the car or trip.
All round great weekend
A road trip to be revisited for sure. Oh and the Toll fees aren't that bad either. 4 tolls totaling around R150. Will give more exact figures from my mom that came with me.
Here are some photo's of the new beaut. Residing now in centurion
