Get in through the window?

Seriously, you might get away with unscrewing the door handle and wire your way in there, but you need to know what you are looking for :( Good luck...

Had similar problem. Clip broke off on inside of the Gopher. You can take the doorpanel out even if it is agains the dash. Just need to do it slowly and carefully. There is a thread on e46 forum about a DIY to take panel of. There is a Youtube clip aswell. Good luck

same thing happened to my e36 328, the door just stopped opening from inside and out.

I eventually took it to mech5, and they fixed it, no idea what they did though

As far as I can see it looks like the door handle has extension inside( moves as handle is lifted ) that may have broken , but the door will still open from inside then .The inside door handle has a rod running to the lock , It may be here where the problem lies , where both handles act at the lock .
Taking the door panel off you will have three plastic pins at the front (dash ) edge , they will be stubborn , if they break ok , about 2 rand each, try not to stuff holes in door panel up .
I can't see behind lock ,but I think problem is in that area , you may have to take lock out .
Lack of space will cause words like :censored: , try this at a better hour !!!
Good luck

Am not sure if yours have side airbags but I had to take mine out to get enough space to fit my Paw in. Also re clips: I broke 2 but with that sticky black stuff did not tneed to buy. Make sure you have blade for that. Also before you pull it out all the way be carefull of the speaker connection. You need to unclip that as soon as there is enough gap between panel and door.
