Can this be done?

I was just wondering, as we all know with the right amount of money anything materialistic can be made possible.. So.. With the right amount of cash, can BMW build a car on request from previous years.. For example, a brand new E46 M3?

There are probably enough spare parts around for them to do that. hell, if they look hard enough they could probably assemble a 'new' E30 M3 / 333i / 325is

And charge you $1M for the E30

Never said it would be cheap :fencelook:
considering they would probably have to hand assemble everything, the labour costs alone would be a killer

do what we good at doing in the SA motoring scene, build your own new one, with custom parts. Then hide it before it gets stolen

I doubt it.

there are probably not any/many "blank" bodies/chassis around.

the entire tooling of the production line is changed.

I am sure if you paid a couple of billion euros, they would though :roflol:

I'm liking the responses...
You guys are making me see things differently..
I just always wondered... Would be brilliant though.
But then I assume those cars of yesteryear could not be titled as 'classic/legends' if this were possible.

I have got an E3 that I am currently busy with.

Parts are freely available, 6k for a starter, 4k per tail light.....

From the dealer, click click ding dong, just all depends how much you are preapred to pay :)

i did read in the bmw magazine that you can get BMW in Germany to restore classics, but at a price.

they basically take the car apart, and rebuild it,using new parts,if they don't have then they manufacture it

I heard of an E24 M635Csi being rebuilt by BMW Germany by hand.
