C/F KIDNEYS FOR E36 M3

I recently ordered a set Carbon Fibre look kidneys for my 94 E36 M3 from a UK supplier and finally received them on Friday. On Sat, I tried to fit them and found them to be slightly bigger than the ones on the car at the moment:thinking::cursin:

Are there different size kidneys for the E36 M3's? If so, I suppose that there are different metal panels that house the kidney's and grills? These things look really cool and I want to get them fitted to match the CF roundels but dont really know what to do......any advice appreciated.

You get the flat nose kidneys (earlier 94-95), and you get the more bulging type.
However, most earlier ones have been changed by the owners, for some or other reason.....

Stolen forum members pics to illustrate :):

I prefer the bulging.
Yes the whole metal surround from indicator to indicator have to be changed to accommodate the different kidney's.

Good luck.

I think there was a difference in the 2 door and 4 door as well.

So my car has the bulging type and the supplier sent me the flat nose type......the previous owner must have changed them as from the responses, it would appear that my car being a 94 model should have the flat nose type.

Now on the car

Wonder whether I should just sell the flat nosetype set that I have just received and get another bulging type set?

Quite right there, the 4 door came with the bulging nose, and the 2 door came with the flatnose.

So I managed to sell the C/F kidneys to a mate of mine and we fitted them to his E36 323 Individual , Daytona Violet and they look pretty wicked on his car. Now I am going to place an order for the bulging type C/F kidneys and should get them in a few weeks.

I can't manage to see the diff between the bulging nose, and the flatnose. Is there something wrong with me? :bawling:

Look at the kidney 'grill'. More specifically the vertical slats and the chrome surround, then you will see the difference.

Dont look at the C/F type kidneys instead look at the pics of the 2 yellow M3's in this post. The flat nose kidneys has a more squared look and the kidney fins are recessed. The C/F kidneys look very similar to the bulging nose kidneys but are the same size as the flat nose kidneys.
