Tough choice. Newer is better, usually. But more power is even better. Go with the 330i. I have an E46 325i and an E39 530i and there is a dramatic difference in performance between the two, even with the heavier 5-series body. But I don't know the E90, so take each for a test drive and convince yourself.

There are other factors. The sport kit is very nice, but you will be washing that black body a lot. The white car looks a bit dowdy, but at least you can leave it parked in the sun and not return to a sauna on wheels.

Perhaps you should look at some more cars and give yourself more options.

What's wrong with the e46, just about everyone that has ever owned one has posted that they regret selling it. From what you have posted above, are you going too get 3 times the car, as you're paying 3 times the price ?

I have often pondered the same myself and if were to replace my 330 e46 with an e90, it would have to be a 330d.

However with the trade prices of the e46 being so low, perhaps just spend a little each month on keeping the e46 in tip top shape ?

330i...without a doubt!
And u will be surprised how good your consumption is for it being a 330.

True I have been spending about R2k a month since Aug this year just to maintain stuff that looks like it is on its way out, having OCD when it comes to keeping my cars in good shape hits my pocket as I already have a bottomless pit called an MG ZR 160. Also as an Auto the fear of Autobox issues keeps me awake at night with the car at 180k on the clock.

Tested both cars the 325 is nice but couldn't hit speeds due to the salesman being full of crap. The 330i I was handed the keys and told " drive it like you stole it" and O boy its a monster compared to mu e46 330. Age and mileage puts me off a bit thou.

I have a heavy foot and speeding fines to back it up ....so getting 14l/100km on the e46 ...anything better is a bonus or beer money...

My advice would be neither.
If you can find an E46 330i manual then that would be the perfect daily. The 330d is not bad either and is also a great car but abit more difficult to find in manual.

If consumption is a concern for you then both cars above will be quite thirsty, if I really had to choose it would be the 330i but I would prefer a sportpack.
The sportpack in my view looks way better on the E90 so try and maybe find a sportpack 330i (manual) or 330d (manual or auto) if you after an E90.

But that's just me, you may be cool with the ride and looks of the exclusive models.

So basically the decision was made for me , the Dealer with the 325i had loads of BS flying out of his mouth and the more I asked questions the more he spat [email protected] they had false advertising w.r.t on the road cost etc went and pushed the finance application threw without me agreeing on anything to the wrong bank etc etc ....now there is 300 queries on my credit report that will effect my future credit score

Finance approved on the 330i picking it up later ......the more I think of it I would have picked the 330i anyway you cant downgrade in power....that's just stupid.

Also very impressed with the dealer .finance was fast and efficient :clapper:
