Hi Guys

So My sister is looking at buying a 2008 Cooper S 1.6 with 103000km on the clock.
I am yet to go and view and chat to owner myself, but what he told her so far is that the car has a "cold start that gives a miss". But he will have it seen to if she wants the car.

Now what does "cold start that gives a miss" mean?
what else does one look at on these cars?
What are there kwaale/common problems?
what does it cost to uphold this car maintenance wise?
What do these cars sell for (the price on this one seems way cheap) taking in account the colour has faded and will probably need a respray.

Thanks in advance

DO NOT BUY IT!

The R56 manufactured between 2006-2011 had/has engine problems. If it already has an issue you have identified, there could be other underlying issues which your sister may experience down the line. The timing chain is known issue. I had my wife's replaced twice in 2 years, 15000km apart and it's still a problem.
They are great cars to drive, if their moving. Rather look at models from 2012 which had all the problems fixed.
